Australian Grand Prix Preview

From 2011 through 2019, Australia hosted the inaugural Grand Prix of the Formula 1 Season.  It was supposed to host it in 2020, but....uh....covid...and they botched it poorly.  People were pissed.  This was also the beginning of the Covid Era which no one could have predicted.  Whether or not Covid was real is past debating at this point, but the point is COVID is done at this point, and no one gives a shit about it anymore. I sure as shit am completely over it and never wearing a damn mask again!  Anyways, enough about Covid, the Aussie GP is back baby!

Not only is the Aussie GP back, but it's back with a vengeance.  Normally, Somky and I get pumped about it because it's the first race of the season and we are just excited F1 is back.  This year is different though.  While it is the first race back for one of my favorite drivers, the FOUR-TIME WORLD CHAMP, Sebastian Vettel, who was actually out because of COVID (ok, last time I mention COVID....probably), it is the third race of the season in what is already shaping out to be an amazing season.  For one, Mercedes hasn't one the first race (besides 2018) since 2013.  We all know by now that 2018 was a fluke of a year for Ferrari.  Well, Melbourne generally doesn't produce the best racing, and the fact that Daniel Ricciardo has never scored a podium there is evidence of that fact (ok, that's just some bad luck for Danny Ric...sorry bro).  The reason we should all be ecstatic for this race is none other than the fact that there are FOUR, YES FOUR, DRS zones this weekend.  That is absolutely ridiculous!!!  Between that and the fact that we have already seen how closely these new cars can race and how fast they are, we are going to see one hell of a race.

If you're in the US and on the east coast (worse on the west coast, sort of), each session sucks as far as when it is.....
